Forrest’s 2016-2017 season ended with a 5-3 loss to Summertown in the Class A sectional round and the Rockets got a small measure of revenge in Monday night’s season opener via a hard fought 4-3 win over the Eagles at Chapel Hill. “We ended the season last year playing this team and came back and opened up with them this year again,” Forrest coach Bart Joyce said. “That’s a great ballclub, coach (Jason) Burleson and Summertown always have a great team.” “They always have a great team, it’s a good team to play, a good team to open up with and good competition.” -
Durard dominates in the circle as Lady Bucks win TCCAA conference series (College Sports ~ 03/14/18)
LYNCHBURG, TN (March 12, 2018) – Kendall Durard allowed only one run in 18 innings pitched and the Motlow offense broke loose as the Lady Bucks won three out of four games from TCCAA rival Cleveland State over the weekend at Lady Bucks Field on Motlow’s Moore County campus. The Lady Bucks (7-11, 4-4) jumped up into the middle of the TCCAA standings with the series win, and will travel to Harriman this weekend for a four-game series against Roane State. -

FMS Rockets steal extra inning win (High School Sports ~ 03/14/18)
The Forrest Middle School Rockets hosted the Fayetteville Middle School Tigers Thursday night at Chapel Hill in an early season matchup with FMS winning a 5-4 extra-inning thriller. FMS had just four hits in the game, while Fayetteville managed five hits off three Forrest pitchers. John Randle Dippold, Cason Warner, Brayden Bowyer, and Clayton Clarke all had one hit in the contest with Warner driving in two runs and Bowyer had one RBI. Andrew Timmons started on the hill for the Rockets and tossed 2 1/3 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits before Dippold came to the mound in middle relief, turning in a sparkling performance with 3 2/3 innings of no-hit scoreless ball, including six strikeouts. -
