NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Dozens of Tennessee farmers are urging the state’s U.S. House delegation to oppose President Donald Trump’s steel and aluminum tariffs. In their open letter Monday, 42 farmers say the tariffs would raise prices for farmers to update equipment, expand production or renovate farm buildings and storage. Chapel Hill welcomes new ladder truck (Local News ~ 06/14/18)
The Chapel Hill Volunteer Fire Department officially welcomed a new piece of equipment on Saturday with a traditional “pushing in” ceremony at the fire hall. Russie Garrett was born in Farmington on June 6, 1917. She is the daughter of the late J.P. Burrow and Lizzie Cook Burrow and one of eleven children. She has a sister who turned 99 this year. Hope Bone of Lewisburg, a member of First Baptist Church Columbia won the Tennessee Baptist Convention State High School Bible Drill and will advance to the National Invitational Bible Drill in Atlanta, Georgia.
