The Forrest Rockets’ wrestling team is coming off a successful 2017 season that produced one state title, two runners-up, plus one third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-place medalist at the TSSAA State Wrestling Tournament in February. Jeff Gross, Wesley McCoy, Cole Geeting, Austin Getting, Nick McClendon, Drew Carlisle, Bryton Spitzley, and Cody Donnelly were the eight at state last season as Gross led the way, capturing back-to-back state and region titles in 2017... -
Forrest hoops swept at Cascade (High School Sports ~ 12/21/18)
After completing a sweep over Lewis County on Monday, the Forrest hoops teams travelled to Cascade where the tables got turned on Chapel Hill as they got swept at Wartrace. The Forrest Lady Rockets turned in their lowest point total of the season as a cold wave swept through their shooting in a 42-32 loss. Forrest led 18-15 at the half and held a one-point lead at the end of the third period before going ice cold from the field with the Lady Rockets’ lone fourth quarter points coming on a Carissa Curtis 3-pointer. -
Bulldogs shatter 24-game losing streak versus Richland (High School Sports ~ 12/21/18)
Not even a power outage and a three-day delay could stop the Cornersville Bulldogs from destiny as they busted a 24-game losing streak to Richland with a 54-42 road win. “We made a few timely shots in the second half when they were making a run, but it feels great to beat them,” Cornersville coach Matt Hagan said. “We didn’t play well the previous two times we had played them going back to last year, but it was things we were doing, not them. We still have a long way to go.” Last Friday, Cornersville travelled to Richland where the girls won the first game and the Bulldogs trailed 8-6 in the nightcap when the lights went out in the gym. -

The Marshall County 4-H Achievement Banquet was held on Monday, Dec. 10, at the Lewisburg Recreation Center. The event honored the top young people in the Marshall County 4-H program for the past year.
