Ferguson signs with Martin Methodist College (High School Sports ~ 05/03/19)
Marshall County is well-known around the state for historically dominant football and boys and girls basketball teams, sending a large amount of those players to play at the next level following graduation. But the for the third time in the past three years, a member of the girls’ soccer squad has committed to play at the next level when Patience Ferguson signed a Letter of Intent to play at National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) powerhouse Martin Methodist College. -
Tigers shutout Fayetteville on Senior Night (High School Sports ~ 05/03/19)
In their final tune up leading up to a first-round District 11-AA Tournament matchup with top-seeded Murfreesboro Central Magnet School on Thursday, the Marshall County Tigers took to the home pitch on Tuesday for a Senior Night game with Fayetteville and it was all Lewisburg in a three-nil blanking. “We have been a little bit inconsistent all year with our intensity and our work ethic and they came out with a lot of determination tonight because they wanted to see our seniors get this win on Senior Night,” MCHS coach Mark Redferrin said. “We played really, really good soccer in the first half and even though we had a little bit of a letdown in the second half, we played good tonight.” -

Duke two-hitter sparks Bulldogs to second-round win over Cascade (High School Sports ~ 05/03/19)
The fourth-ranked Cornersville Bulldogs (22-4-1) lived up to the billing in a 2-0 win over Cascade in District 8-A Tournament second-round action Thursday night at Cornersville. The top-seeded Bulldogs rode a two-hit gem on the mound by senior ace righty Graham Duke, who gave up two hits, struck out 12, and walked two Cascade batters in the shutout win by the hosts.
