The Marshall County 13-15 year old stars opened up its defense of back-to-back Babe Ruth League Eastern Divison state championships in style Friday night at Lawrenceburg as Carson Cheek and Daniel Sellars combined for a 10-0 shutout no-hitter over longtime archrival Giles County. The two hurlers got plenty of help from their teammates at the plate as Marshall County had eight hits and scored 10 runs in a five-inning, run rule win. -
Small ball win propels Marshall County to state title game (High School Sports ~ 07/17/19)
After a tough 6-3 loss to host Lawrenceburg in Saturday’s winner bracket final, the Marshall County 13-15 year old all-stars bounced back Sunday with a big 4-1 win over archrival Giles County in the loser’s bracket final. Daniel Sellars tossed the first three innings on the mound for Marshall County and only gave up one run before Carson Cheek came to the mound in the top of the fourth and benefitted from a four-run bottom of the frame to pick up his second win of the tournament. -
Marshall County miscues hand state title to Lawrenceburg (High School Sports ~ 07/17/19)
The 13-15 year old Babe Ruth League Eastern Division title game came down to a rematch of the winner’s bracket final as Marshall County squared off with host Lawrenceburg in Sunday’s second game. Marshall County needed to beat Lawrenceburg twice to snatch the trophy, but it was one and done as the purple and yellow clad hosts came away with a 7-4 win to break a two-year run by the visitors. -

The Lions Super Pull of the South is one of the rites of summer in Chapel Hill as the town readies for the 43rd running of one of the most popular and successful Tractor Pulls in the country. It is a time when the Lions Club Field and the surrounding area adjacent to Forrest School is transformed into Lions Club Motorsports Park as a bevy of volunteers execute a perfectly orchestrated plan in preparation for the arrival of pullers from all over the country on Wednesday to the dropping of the green flag on Friday night at 7 p.m. -
