Dragons spoil LMS Homecoming (High School Sports ~ 09/19/19)
The LMS Tigers (4-1) took on the Dickson County Middle School Dragons (3-2) for Homecoming Thursday night at Preston Hopkins Field in Lewisburg. On a sun-splashed early evening, LMS Homecoming Queen Mallory Hardison and her Court preceded a hard-fought game that the saw the Tigers fall behind early before playing catch-up, but in the end they could not overcome and fell to the Dragons 34-20. -
Wild comeback secures Homecoming win for CMS Bulldogs (High School Sports ~ 09/19/19)
Those middle school boys from Cornersville must have had a good night’s sleep after spending much of the day in the hot sun celebrating Homecoming before coming away with a wild 28-26 comeback win over Moore County Thursday night at Frog Bottom. The Bulldogs never attempted a pass in the contest, rushing the ball 35 times for 249 yards with Ben Franklin leading way with 178 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns while averaging 10.5 yards per rush. -

Bulldogs roll over GCA (High School Sports ~ 09/19/19)
The Cornersville Bulldogs hosted an old foe Friday night for Homecoming at Frog Bottom as they entertained the Grace Christian Academy Lions, who moved to Division II this season after spending its first four years in the same region as Cornersville. The two squads put up over 300 total yards each, but the Cornersville defense, gaining confidence with each game, bent but did not break and the Bulldogs rolled to a 50-13 victory. -
McClendon runs over Raiders at Lynchburg, Rockets move to 4-0 (High School Sports ~ 09/19/19)
The Forrest Rockets travelled to Lynchburg Friday night where they picked up their third road win of the season, pounding Moore County 35-14 at Doug Price Field. “They are a physical team, they play hard, they don’t have very many players, but they play hard from the first whistle to the last and that says a lot to coach (Jason) Dobbs, who is doing a good over here with his program and it is great to get this rivalry back going,” Forrest coach Eli Stephenson said. -

Chapel Hill awarded TDOT grant (Local News ~ 09/19/19)
Photo submitted The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced a $1.7 million grant award for the town of Chapel Hill as part of the Transportation Alternatives Grant program. According to TDOT, this grant funding will be used for the construction of sidewalks and bike lanes along SR-11 (Horton Highway) from Rocketeer Boulevard to Depot Street. Rare opportunity flying into town (Local News ~ 09/19/19)
Residents are getting a rare chance to get close to history. The World War II B-17 bomber "Yankee Lady" will fly in to Ellington Airport in Lewisburg on Sunday, Sept. 29.
