The Forrest Rockets just missed breaking their losing streak in a close 45-44 loss to Murfreesboro Central Magnet School in the District 12-AA opener on Tuesday, January 12 before hosting Community Friday night. The Rockets came out firing on all cylinders versus the Vikings, flying out to a 13-0 lead behind six points by Walker Herring in the low post, a 3-pointer from CJ Sanchez, and a rebound and put-back by Brennan Mealer.

After a five-point home win over Murfreesboro Central Magnet School in the District 12-AA opener on Tuesday, January 12, the Forrest Lady Rockets entertained Community on Friday night at Chapel Hill. Forrest senior Laura Mealer, who led all scorers in the game with 19 points, opened up the game with a drive to the hoop for two points.

The Marshall County Tigers travelled to Chapel Hill Tuesday night for an early big District 12-AA contest with MCHS coming in riding a five-game winning streak while the Rockets entered the intra-county rivalry game stuck in an eight-game losing skid. The Rockets played three quarters with the lead before Marshall County exploded in the fourth quarter, running and gunning their way to a 23-point period and a convincing 57-46 win.

The Forrest Lady Rockets needed a win after dropping two straight and they got in dramatic fashion Tuesday night at Chapel Hill when Alex Davenport knocked down a game-winning 3-pointer at the overtime buzzer for a 40-38 District 12-AA win.
