Huntland continues to roll, easily defeat Lady Bulldogs (High School Sports ~ 01/28/21)
The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (0-13, 0-5) welcomed District 8-A foe Huntland in the opening game of Tuesday night’s doubleheader at the Cornersville gymnasium. The Lady Hornets, with their senior laden squad and a suffocating full-court press, easily defeated the Lady Dawgs 79-31 for their fifth win in a row. Once again, The Lady Bulldogs with their youth and inexperience struggled against a pressure defense that cause turnovers and as a result found themselves in a hole that only got deeper. -
Self makes her mark (High School Sports ~ 01/28/21)
Marshall County High School senior Abby Self has left her mark on the bowling program in Lewisburg, qualifying for the Division I Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) State Bowling Championships for the second year in a row. The Marshall County Tigers entertained Murfreesboro Central Magnet School (MCM) at the Dottie Kelso Memorial Gymnasium in Friday night’s homecoming contest, looking to extend their winning streak to seven games. The Tigers had little trouble in the District 12AA contest, easily beating their namesakes 49-34 to move to 10-4 on the season and undefeated at 4-0 in league play. -
