#8 McKenna Moffett stands safe at second following her RBI double against Goodpasture.
The Tigerettes came in as defending Class AA State Champions but they ran into the defending Class A State Champs of Goodpasture who were making their first run in Class AA.

After their tournament opening win over Haywood, 4-1, the Tigerettes faced a very good Greenbrier team who had just come off an extra-inning victory of perennial power Knoxville Gibbs. Tigerette ace Paij Lintz was on target against the Lady Bobcats allowing only 2 hits and one walk against 11 strikeouts to get the 1-0 win. The winning run came in the fifth when Katrina Jones reached on a single and stole second to score on a hit from freshman Addricka O'Neal. The tight 1-0 victory set the Tigerettes up against the game of the tournament when they faced Goodpasture for a shot at the Championship final.

Kiley Lintz set the tone for the Tigerettes with a double in the first and a double from McKenna Moffett drove Lintz in for the first run on the contest. The Tigerette defense held the Lady Cougars in check until the sixth when Goodpasture struck with a pair of doubles from Kelsey Cartwright and Jessica Williamson. Heather Purcell sneaked in a single in the inning and the Lady Cougars scored two runs to take a 2-1 lead heading into the final inning. The Tigerettes got a runner aboard but could not move in for the score to fall for the first time in two seasons at the State, 2-1.

#3 Paij Lintz fires to the plate as #33 Bethany London gets ready at first base.
The loss was a big one for the Tigerettes and put them in a matchup with Covington for a chance to face Goodpasture again in the Championship Finals. The Lady Chargers wasted no time in jumping on the Tigerettes with three runs in the top of the first. The Tigerettes bounced back with a run in the fifth but then came a two-run homer from Tina Kellum of Covington in the fifth to cap a three-run inning and a 6-1 lead. The Tigerettes managed one more score in the contest but so did Covington to end the season for the Tigerettes as the third place team in Class AA.
