Hobbs recently completed his Tiger Baseball career by leading his team in batting average with .378 and pitching to a 5-0 record. Hobbs and the Tigers advanced to the Sectional this season where they fell one game short of a trip to the State Tournament in a thrilling 1-0 loss at David Lipscomb.
Hobbs graduated this year from MCHS with a 3.5 GPA and served as a member of the Beta Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is undecided on his plans of study at Martin Methodist College.
Hobbs will be joining the Redhawks program under the direction of Coach George Ogilvie. Ogilvie, a former Tiger star athlete, just completed his third season heading up the Redhawks Baseball program that includes former Tigers Robby Giles, Rudy Lyles, Chris Davis and Bulldog Chris London.
Hobbs will be following in the footsteps of his older brother, Steve Hobbs, who was a member of the 1983 Tiger State Championship team before moving on to play collegiate baseball at Martin Methodist.
