Mrs. Curtie Mai Allison Divens, age 103, took her final journey at N.H.C. Oakwood
Hall Lewisburg on August 10, 2006. She was born October 8, 1902 to the late Mr. and
Mrs. Rollie (Mary Smith) Allison. She accepted Christ at an early age and bebame a
member of the Methodist Church. Mrs, Curtie never wanted to be without a Methodist
church home. Her passion was the Methodist doctrine and its history. She was a fighter
for life but also knew how to relax and be content which contributed to her long life. She
was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Divens; son Earl Divens; granddaughter,
Donna Lorene Hunt; five sisters Mrs. Susie Grant, Mrs. Estella Shafner, Mrs. Lola Greer,
Mrs. Flossie Wright and Mrs. Rollie Ewing; and one brother Mr, J.C. Allison.She is
survived by a loving grandson, one great grandson, one great granddaughter, one
step-grandson, one great-great-granddaughter and a host of devoted nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family Wednesday, August 16 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist
Church. Funeral services following at noon, directed by Charles Johnson. The body will
lie in state at Mayberry and Sons Funeral Hone, the Burial will be at Cedar Grove
Cemetary in Belfast, Tn.
