Funeral services for MR. Charles C. (Bud) Pickle, age 80 of the Pleasant Grove Community will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006 in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Jim Sorrells & Brother Paul Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Round Hill Cemetary in the Belfast Community. Mr. Pickle died Wednesday afternoon, September 6, 2006, at the Bedford County Medical Center after and extended illness.
Visitation will be held Friday eveming starting at 4 p.m. at Doak-Howell Funeral Home.
A native of Bedford County, and a former resident of Cornersville, he was the son of the late Sam Jones Pickle & Sarah Adams Pickle. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Freda Pickle, brothers, Doyle & Sam Pickle Jr,, sisters, Virginia Phillips & Carrie Vaughn.
Besides being a farmer all his life, Mr. Bud drove a school bus for the Bedford Co. School system fpr 24 years, and transported the ball teams for 16 years and never missed a game. He was a member of the National Brown Swiss Dairy Association, the Tennessee Brown Swiss Dairy Association, was a member of the Bedford County Farm Bureau and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church for 68 years. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jane Haynie Pickle, sons; William haynie Pickle and Robert Samuel Pickle both of Pleasant Grove Community, a daughter Gemella Jane Colson of Corinth, Kentucky. 4 grand-daughters, 2 grand-sons & 1 great grand-daughter. Memorials may be made to the Liberty School, for the Buddy Pickle Memorial fund. Doak-Howell Funeral Home is serving the family.
