Calsonic Is Not Moving More Jobs To Lewisburg

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

Despite a rumor making the rounds, CalsonicKansei North America is not planning any major reductions in its Shelbyville operations beyond some transfers announced in April affecting the injection molding division. Those jobs, it was announced in April, were moving from CKNA's plant in Shelbyville to its plant in Lewisburg.

Bob Masteller of CKNA said that the transfer of the injection molding jobs has taken place over time, but that there's no truth to rumors of any further reductions or closures.

CKNA has 3,600 employees and annual revenues of $1.7 billion in North America, with operations in California, Michigan, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Mexico.
