King Awarded Titans Scholarship

Sam King, a 2006 graduate of Cornersville High School is the recipient of the Tennessee Titans Join the Team Scholarship for the second year in a row. Bud Adams, Jr, owner of the Tennessee Titans, created the scholarship program to get High School athletes involved and give back to their community.

Qualifications include being a TSSAA High School Football Team member, and performing at least 50 hours of community work for non-profit organizations. Cornersville High School Head Football Coach, Ray Stocstill, found information on the program and Sam signed up to participate.

Sam is currently attending Columbia State Community College, studying agriculture. For the 2005-2006 year, Bud Adams, Jr, owner of the Tennessee Titans, has agreed to increase the awards to winners. Since Sam was a participant for the past two years, he received a total of $2400.

Sam was also notified that he is the recipient of a $500 scholarship from the Columbia State Community College Agriculture Scholarship Fund that was provided by Farm Credit Services.
