The official GED practice test will be given in Lewisburg on Saturday, October 28 at 8:30 a.m. This test is a state requirement of all candidates planning to take the official GED exam. The OPT is provided FREE by the Marshall County Adult Learning Center lcoated in the Spot Lowe Vocational and Technical School. A photo ID is required, and plan to stay approximately five hours. Call 359-7609 for additional information and to reserve a seat.

This project is funded under an agreement with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development and Marshall County Schools.

The Marshall County 4-H Community Clubs will be selling fresh, fragrant Holiday Evergreens as a 4-H fundraiser until October 30th. If you would like live evergreens for this holiday season please contact the UT Extension - Marshall County office at 359-1929 or come by the office at 230 College Street, Suite 130 in Lewisburg. Greens are expected the week of December the 4th.

UT Extension Service Marshall County will be conducting Beef Quality Assurance Certification on October 26, 2006. Three meeting times will be offered: 11:00 am, 1:00 pm or 5:30 pm. You need to attend only one meeting. If you have any questions please contact your county agent at 359-1929.

A covered dish luncheon will be held in conjunction with the Marshall County Senior Citizens Board of Directors Annual Meeting will be held on October 24th at 12:00 in the center nutrition site. Participants can bring a dish or pay $3.00 for lunch. The agenda will include: financial report, repoort from nominations committee, election of Center Representative, and update on center programs.

Marshall County Health Council presents the 3rd annual free breast cancer health event, October 21, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Greater First Baptist Church, 512 5th Avenue, Lewisburg, TN.
