Mr. James Thomas (Babe) Estes, 84, a resident of 724 Spring Street, Lewisburg, passed away Friday evening, October 27, 2006, at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Estes were conducted Monday, October 30, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Perry Muse and Reverend Aubrey Knois officiating. Burial was in Lone Oak Cemetery.

Born in Marshall County, South Berlin community, he was the son of the late Marvin P. Estes and Judy Josephine Morton Estes. Mr. Estes is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita Bennett Estes. He was a foreman in the construction industry and a deacon and member of Berean Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ronnie Estes of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Cindy Culpepper of West Frankfort, Illinois, Dawn Evans of Belfast, Tammy Staub of Michigan; grandsons, Shane Estes of Normandy, Tommy Estes of Wheel, Todd Estes of Michigan, Ronnie Estes of Carlsbad, California; twelve great grandchildren and David Davis, a special friend. A son, William P. Estes, preceded him in death in 2000.

Pallbearers were Gene Parsons, Larry Harwell, J. W. Stephens, Don Bryant, Henry George, and Joe Pittman. Honorary Pallbearers were Dawson Long, Billy Callahan, George Worden, Kenneth Caldwell,George Smith and Don Porter.
