James Davis Turner

Mr. James Davis Turner, age 83 of Lewisburg, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 in NHC Oakwood.
Mr. Turner was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee and son of the late James Benton and Mary Edna Davis Turner. He was retired from Heil-Quaker Corporation and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Mr. Turner served his country in the U.S. Army with a Medical Detachment in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre where he was awarded the Bronze Battle Star. He was, also, engaged in the Southern Philippines Liberation and was awarded the second Bronze Battle Star. He is survived by two brothers, Joe Loyd Turner of Lewisburg and Murrell Gene Turner of Linden, Tennessee.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with Mary Ann Pruitt officiating. Burial was in Head Springs Cemetery with military honors. The family was at London Funeral Home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Monday until the funeral hour for visitation.
Pallbearers were Paul Hopkins, Larry McAdams, Donny Moses, Jerry King, Don Moses and Frank Sharp.
