Rev. Leslie Tomlin, age 90, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Saturday, January 27, 2007. Rev. Tomlin was born in Williamson County and was a son of the late John Wesley and Emma Jean Ingram Tomlin of Chapel Hill, TN. He was a retired minister of the Assemblies of God. His main interest was in the field of missions and he founded and pioneered many new churches in the State of Tennessee including the First Assembly of God in Fayetteville, Tennessee, which he pastored for 40 years. Rev. Tomlin was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lora Phillips Nixon Tomlin, who died in 1991; by brothers, Lytle, Luther, Leonard, Lawrence, Lenzie and Livingston Tomlin; and by sisters, Lois Irvin and Lizzie Daughrity.
Rev. Tomlin is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Eddie Boscio, Fayetteville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Eddie and Shirley Tomlin, Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Lou Ellen Hosford, Franklin, TN; granddaughters, Linda Thomas, Fayetteville, TN, Melana Hydrick, Murfreesboro, TN, Shanel Marlow, Perkins, OK, Alison Davison, Marietta GA and Tonia Smith, Fayetteville, TN; great grandsons, Chance Smith, Cole, Parker and Chase Marlow; great granddaughters, Morgan and Meredith Thomas, Isabelle and Caroline Hydrick and Reagan Olivia Smith.
Visitation was Tuesday, January 30, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will beconducted at 1:00 p.m. Wed., January 31, 2007 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Don McCullough and Rev. Bill Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
