Shelbyville murder has Marshall connections
A shooting death victim Wednesday at Shelbyville had lived in Cornersville with his wife who's charged with his murder and at least one co-defendant is from Lewisburg.
William "Bill" Ross, 40, was shot in the head and twice in his torso in the early morning hours Wednesday at his home on Wartrace Pike just east of Shelbyville, Bedford County investigators said.
Originally from Knox, Ind., Ross lived in Cornersville for about six years, was a fire fighter for the South Marshall County Volunteer Fire Department, and moved to Shelbyville after he married his new wife, Kimberly, according to Scott Stiles, an employee of the Cornersville Public Works Department who fought at least one house fire with Ross, a hunting buddy. Ross' former wife is Stiles' cousin.
Charged with first-degree murder are: Kimberly Ann Ross, 37, the wife; Ashley Mai Cook, 23, of Shelbyville, and; Justin Paul Young, 19, who's described by authorities as a friend of the Rosses' son living with them.
