Abrigo loses in semi-finals, finishes 6th

Forrest's Morgan Abrigo's dream of winning the 2007 State Wrestling Championship in the 152 pound weight class ended when he lost in the semifinals to the eventual runner-up Jarriet Toney of Soddy-Daisy by the score of 12-9.Toney lost in the championship match to Justin Spain from Bradley 6-0.

Abrigo, who was wrest-ling the entire tournament with an injured knee, went on to finish in sixth place overall after losing two more consolation matches, the last on an injury decision when he could not continue.

Abrigo's sixth place finish earned him a second consecutive state championship medal after his runner-up medal in 2006 in the 140 pound weight class. The Forrest grappler finished the season at 23-3 and his heart and determination at the State Tournament will be remembered by all in attendance and his legacy to the Forrest program will be far reaching.

Forrest head coach Jason Spitzley said, "Morgan's performance provides future hope for the entire program and it shows the kids what hard work and determination can accomplish."
