Colie Lake Hamlin, Jr, age 83, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 in NHC Oakwood. Mr. Hamlin was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee and son of the late Colie Lake, Sr. and Anne Fagan Hamlin, member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a Navy Veteran of W.W. II, member of the American Legion, a former member of the Lewisburg Lions Club and was retired from Hamlin and Bolling Furniture Store. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Morris, Burton, J.B. Hamlin and Jimmy Rone; sisters, Mary Jackson and Virginia Rone.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Elizabeth Cheatham Hamlin of Lewisburg, 3 daughters, Colma (Gary) Bolling of Lewisburg, Carol (Frank) LaPorta of Haifa, Israel, and Alice (Greg) Donahue of Lewisburg, 2 sisters, Frankie Hemphill, of Fort Myers, Florida and Wanda Cooper of Columbia. Eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Paul Woodford and Tom Dumser Monday 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Donahue, Beau Hardison, Zack Cook, T.J. Montgomery, Bryan Edwards, Brian Moody, Chris Schwiethole, Ronnie Hamlin, James B. Hamlin, Jr. Honorary bearers were Senior Adult Class of First Baptist Church, Donnie Cooper, Richard Cooper, Norman Rone, Edwin Hamlin, and Deacons of First Baptist Church.
The Family was at London Funeral Home for visitation Sunday from 4:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m.
