Kenneth "Porkchop" Elmore, 46, of Chapel Hill, TN passed away suddenly on Sunday, Apr. 8, 2007. Kenneth was the son of Allen and Nell Elmore and was a life long resident of Chapel Hill. He was born Aug. 15, 1960, was a 1978 graduate of Forrest High School and worked as a building superintendent for Principle Building Group. Most importantly, he was very active in his children's activities as an avid Forrest High School Rockets Athletic Booster and volunteer as well as a youth sports coach, most recently with the High Voltage Shockers girls fast pitch softball team.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sharon "Bunky" Elmore; son, Britt Elmore; daughters, Brianda and Kellie "Piper" Elmore; sister, Kenya Elmore; mother-in-law, Faydene Piper, all of Chapel Hill; sister-in-law, Susie (Jim) McGowan, Nunnelly, TN; brothers-in-law, Bill (Lesa) Piper, Franklin, TN and Perry (Julie) Piper, Signal Mountain, TN; nieces, Natalie Bingham and Leigh Piper; nephews, Ben (Katy) Piper and Bill Piper; great niece and great nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and innumerable friends.
Services were conducted from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home on Tues., Apr. 10, 2007 at 3 PM with Rev. David Ghee, Rev. Larry Chatman and Rev. Keith Wilson officiating. Visitation with the family was on Monday, Apr. 9, 2007 beginning at 4 PM and on Tues., Apr. 10, 2007 at 11 AM until time of service. Burial followed at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Pallbearers were Tim Blalock, Johnny Calvert, Coleman Crockett, Ricky Fagan, Harvey Holton, Bobby Paul, Lonnie Porter, Robin Richardson, Ricky Stinnett, Buster Whitley and Rex Wharton.
