When it's spring in Tennessee, more than 2,000 FFA members gather in Gatlinburg for the youth organization's annual state convention. During the last few days of March, FFA members from across the Volunteer State attended a series of business sessions, presented proficiency programs, listened to motivational speakers and joined in on traditional FFA fellowship.

Additionally, over 500 members were awarded the prestigious FFA State Degree which is awarded to students who demonstrate extra-curricular achievements and success in their supervised agriculture experience programs.

FFA members from the Cornersville FFA Chapter were among the groups recognized and were at the convention to accept their award.

Joining them for the closing session were representatives from Farm Credit Services of Mid-America (FCS), a perennial sponsor of the FFA State Degree program. "It's amazing to see the level of skill and commitment that these students possess. We're committed to agriculture for the long-term and can think of no better way to demonstrate this than through the FFA sponsorship," said Ricky West, Vice President of Financial Services with FCS.
