Mr. Melvin Edison George, Jr., 47, of Lewisburg, died Thursday at his residence.

Mr. George was a native of Marshall County, and son of Melvin Edison, Sr. and Nancy Bartlett George of Lewisburg. Earlier in his life he was employed by Heil-Quaker Corporation. In later years he was disabled.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Melvin Cory George of Shelbyville; two sisters, Donna McElhaney and Connie Wiser, both of Lewisbuge; granddaughter, Jordon George and stepson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerry Wayne George in 1995.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. . Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery.

The family was at London Funeral Home Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday until the funeral hour for visitation.
