Loyd Cooper Davis, 97, of Lewisburg, Tenn., died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Marshall Medical Center.
He was a native of Bedford County, the son of the late Thomas Jentry Davis and Annie Reeves Davis. He retired from the construction industry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ruth Wood Davis in 2004.
Survivors include his two sons, Billy Loyd Davis (Bettye) of Murfreesboro and Lyndell Davis (Gradean) of Cornersville; one daughter, Murl Davis Franklin of Prattville, Ala.; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 24, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with James Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation with the family was held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Monday and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Greg Davis, Keith Davis, Kent Davis, Kevin Davis, Mike Franklin and Monty Franklin.
Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home in Lewisburg was in charge of arrangements.
