Registration is now open for the Lewisburg Parks and Recreation Department Summer Day Camp program. For more information or to sign-up, please call the Sports Complex, 359-1593, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Marshall County Civil Air Patrol meets at Ellington Airport every Monday night from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The Alzheimer's Association Marshall County Support Group will meet on the second Thursday, May 10, at noon at the Marshall Co. Senior Citizens Center located at 230 College St. in Lewisburg. Light refreshments will be provided. This month the group will have a time of sharing and caring. The group is free of charge and can be beneficial to anyone caring for a loved one suffering with memory impairment and confusion. Caney Spring Baptist Church will celebrate Old-fashioned "Back to Basics" Vacation Bible School, June 10-15, 2007. All children are invited to use crayons, markers and imagination to design a poster showing how much fun they will have learning about Adam and Eve, Noah and the animals, Moses and the 10 Commandments and David and Goliath. Prize ribbons will be awarded. Posters will be displayed around town to invite others to VBS.

All posters should be dropped of at Caney Spring Baptist Church, 1444 Hwy. 99 in Chapel Hill by Friday, May 11. Be sure the child's name, address and phone number are clearly marked on the back of the poster.

The Belfast Lions Club is having a Country Boy Show and BBQ Supper on May 12th.

The Official GED Practice Test will be given May 12 at 8:30 a.m. at the Marshall County Adult Learning Center, in the back of Spot Lowe Vocational School, 1771 Jason Maxwell Blvd., Lewisburg. Gospel Singing at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Saturday night, May 12, 2007 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Featured singers will be Two His Glory and The Cavaliers from Shelbyville.

Caney Spring Baptist Church is hosting a Mother/Daughter Garden Party tea on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the church. Gather up your grandmothers, mothers, daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

Decoration Day will be celebrated at Short Cemetery on Spring Place Road on Saturday, May 12, 2007.

Decoration Day at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13, 2007. Volunteers will accept donations at the shelter located at the exit, or may be mailed to City of Lewisburg, P.O. Box 1968, Lewisburg, TN 37091.

Cedar Grove Cemetery will have "clean-up Weekends" on May 12 and 19 as weather permits.

Cornersville First Baptist Church will hold a fundraiser Fish Fry at Rock Creek Park on Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 2 to 6 p.m. The cost is $10 and the meal consists of: Fried Fish, Fries, Hush Puppies, Hot or Cold Slaw, Dessert and Tea. Carry-out is available.

The second annual Petersburg Lions Club TN Walking Horse Show will be held Friday, May 18, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at Lions Pride Park in Petersburg. General Admission is $5, children under 10 are free. For special reserved box seats call 931-276-2343. Dozens of events, great food and fun for all ages.

The 193rd consecutive meeting of the Rock Creek Bible Society will be held at Bethbirei Presbyterian Church, 2025 Bethbirei Road, Lewisburg, on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.

The society distributes Bibles and is non-denominational. There will be a covered dish luncheon and a short business meeting following the message. Preceeding the Bible Society meeting, the Decoration of the Cemetery will be held.

Decoration Day at Palmetto Cemetery in Farmington will be held May 19 at 2:30 p.m. on the cemetery grounds. In case of inclement weather, meet at Farmington United Methodist Church. Contributions may be mailed to Janet Manine, 1513 Gina Lynn Dr., Lewisburg, TN 37091.

Cochran Cemetery Board will meet on May 19, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Lewisburg Summit Recreation Room, 730 Franklin Ave. Anyone interested in the cemetery is invited to attend. Volunteers or those wishing to make donations should call Alice at 359-2753 for more information.

Auditions for the musical "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," to be performed by the Children's Division of the Marshall County Community Theater, will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2007 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Marshall Elementary School. The production will be directed by Carol Bennington. Anyone 8 to 13 years old as of May 20 is eligible to audition. Show dates are Sept. 21-23 and 28-30. Lewisburg Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the annual Ming and Roger Brown Memorial Tennis Tournament, May 24-28, at the Lewisburg Recreation Center, 1551 Mooresville Hwy., Lewisburg. Divisions will be offers in Men‚‚s, Women‚‚s, and Youth singles, doubles and mixed doubles. All proceeds from the event will benefit the MCHS tennis teams.
