I don't know if summer is officially here according to the calendar, but according to the weather, it's here! Have you thought about those cold days we had earlier this year when we said warm weather couldn't come soon enough? Just lately those cold days might feel good!

The AARP Driver Safety Program "55-Alive" course will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday, June 5 and 6, at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Family LIfe Center. It's always good to learn new safe driving information as we mature. (None of us is getting "older"!) The class will meet from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day. With a course completion certificate, you may be entitled to a discount on your auto insurance. Check with your agent to be sure.

If you would like to participate in this course, please register with one of the secretaries at the church between 8 a.m. and noon each weekday. A course fee of $10 is refundable to those who become unable to attend. For registration and information contact the church office at 364-2310.

Congratulations to the Lady Rockets softball team for advancing to the State Finals! They are playing tonight (Wednesday). Good luck, girls -Just keep on going!

School is out (for students, anyway)! There are lots of plans in the making for Summer vacation! Kids, enjoy it while you can - it won't be that long until you return!
