John Floyd McKay

John Floyd McKay, 72, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, June 3, 2007, in St. Thomas Hospital.

Mr. McKay was born in Davidson County, and was a life long resident of Marshall County. He was the son of the late Jeff and Mildred Hastings McKay.

Mr. McKay was co-owner of 31 A Trucking Company. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gay Dyer McKay of Lewisburg; daughter, Alice (Rick) Kennedy; son, Jeff (Jenny) McKay; sister, Emily McKay Whitesell all of Lewisburg; three grandsons, John (Julie) Tucker of Hawaii, David Tucker and Gordon McKay both of Lewisburg; and granddaughter, Katie McKay, also of Lewisburg.

Funeral services were conducted by Claude McMillion and Jimmy Joe Ketchum on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of London Funeral Home. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were David Tucker, Gordon McKay, Ben Fender, Donnie Derryberry, J.W. Whitehead, Bryan Fuller, Rick Kennedy, Mike Reese.

The family held visitation at London Funeral Home Tuesday after 4 p.m. and was available Wednesday until the funeral hour for visitation.
