Distinguished Service Award given
Tennessee Association of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America recently presented Melanie Harris Jordan with the Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding contributions to the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America program during their State Leadership Meeting at Opryland Hotel.
Mrs. Jordan graduated from Columbia Central, received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and her Master's degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
Her first position was Assistant Extension Agent for Lawrence County Agriculture Extension Service. Mrs. Jordan taught Home Economics at Culleoka School for eleven years. She served as District FCCLA STAR Event coordinator for twelve years and state director for five years. Under her leadership, significant improvements were made in the management of STAR Events.
Mrs. Jordan currently teaches Family and Consumer Science at Marshall County High School.
