Frances M. Burrow Ekas, 81, of Brackenridge, Pa., died Monday, July 9, 2007 in Golden Living Center in Oakmont, Pa.
Mrs. Ekas was born December 1, 1925, in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Marvin and Minnie Plyant Burrow. She lived in Brackenridge for 60 years.
She was a member of the Church of God in Brackenridge. Her hobbies included artistry, golfing, knitting and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Warren Ekas, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Jessie) Smith of Calif.; a son, James (Earla) Henry of Lower Burrell; two stepsons, Joseph Ekas and Rene Ekas, both of Pittsburgh; a step-daughter, Susi Hatch of Fla.; four brothers, Marvin (Selene) Burrow, Jr., Robert Burrow, Le (LaVerne) Burrow, all of Tenn., and Charles (Mary) Burrow of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Earlene Gibson of Tenn. and Kay (Charles) Owens of Ala.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 at Frank F. Gigler Funeral Home, Lower Burrell, Pa. Services were held there on Friday, July 13, at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
