Junior Auxiliary is a national non-profit organization that encourages members to render charitable services which are beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children. The Junior Auxiliary (JA) of Lewisburg is one of over 100 JA chapters throughout the south who are members of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA).
NAJA was organized in Greenville, Miss., on Nov. 3, 1944, by 100 women from ten Mississippi and Arkansas communities.
The Lewisburg, TN, chapter of Junior Auxiliary has served its community since 1994. Local volunteer members work with over 12,000 other women across the region to address needs in their communities especially the needs of children and their families.
Junior Auxiliary members give their time and talents to community projects by addressing pressing educational, health, cultural and social needs. The number of children reached, by the Lewisburg chapter averages more than 500 annually.
These children represent all social and economic levels. The Junior Auxiliary members accomplish these tasks through one major fundraiser, the Annual Children's Charity Ball in February.
