There will be a Gospel Singing Saturday night, August 11, 2007 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church beginning at 6:30 p.m. Featured singers will be The Encouragers from Alabama.

Farmington Methodist Church will hold it's annual ice cream, hamburger and hot dog supper on Aug. 11, from 4 p.m. until. The church is located at 2212 Hwy. 20, Lewisburg. Come and enjoy all the home baked goods.

The Wiser Family reunion will be held on Aug. 11 at the Griffin Park large shelter in Shelbyville. A pot luck meal will be served around noon, with plates, cups, forks and napkins being furnished. A drawing will be held for various prizes.

The Webb and Raymond Pugh Family reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 12 at the WBTS Clubhouse. A covered dish lunch will begin at 1 p.m. For further information call 684-4876.

A Gospel Meeting will be held at Wilson Hill Church of Christ beginning Aug. 12-15. Stan Butt will be the speaker, Clay Derryberry is the song leader. Lunch will be served after Sunday service. Services begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The Marshall County Democratic Party will meet on Aug. 13, at First National Bank, 1190 N Ellington Pkwy, Lewisburg, at 5:30 p.m.

The American Red Cross blood drive will be in the Chapel Hill Community on Monday, Aug. 13, from noon-6 p.m at the Chapel Hill UMC, 316 N. Horton Pkwy. The blood drive will be held in Lewisburg on Thursday, Aug. 16 also from noon-6 p.m. at t he Church Street Church of Christ. Friday Aug. 24, from 1-5 p.m. the blood drive will visit the Lewisburg Walmart parking lot.

MCHS will hold an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 14. The event is open to the public and will give parents a chance to meet the teachers, and students the chance to get club information. Spirit items will be on sale.

The Marshall County Historical Commission will meet on Aug. 15, 2007 at 2212 Courthouse Annex at 1 p.m.

The Marshall County Republican Women's Group will meet Thursday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at First Commerce Bank. All Marshall County Women are invited to attend.

Duck River Electric Membership Corporation will hold its annual meeting of members on Saturday August 18th starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Harris Middle School Auditorium located at the corner of Eagle Blvd. and Learning Way in Shelbyville. Those attending the meeting will have an opportunity to elect their representatives to serve on the DREMC Board of Directors as well as hear operational reports about the cooperative.

Those who have been nominated for election to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors by the nominating committee are: Glenn Norfleet -- Zone 1, Coffee County; Buford Jennings -- Zone 3, Moore and Lincoln Counties; Ken Stacey - Zone 5, Marshall County; Robert DuBois -- Zone 7, Maury, Hickman, Lewis, Lawrence and Williamson Counties. Laura Willis has been reappointed by the Board of Regents to represent The University of The South.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Several door prizes will be awarded to members at the conclusion of the business session. Attendance gifts will also be given to the first 300 members to register. A Fine Art Show and Sale featuring 40 local and regional artists will be held from 11 am - 6:30 pm at the Memorial Building, 308 W. 7th Street in Columbia on Aug. 24. Items for sale will include original paintings, sculptures, pottery and stained glass. Proceeds will benefit the Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation Special Needs fund to assist patients who need medication and transportation. God's Lemonade Stand, a food pantry for the needy, will hold a benefit auction beginning at 2 p.m. on Aug. 25 at 1400 Robin Hood Rd. Activities will include a cake walk, singing, a silent and live auction, and much more. All proceeds from the event will go to the GLS Food Pantry to help offset the expenses of the upcoming season.

Lewisburg's Monday night TOPS group meets at 6 p.m. at the Sandlewoods Apartments Clubhouse. TOPS has planned a two-month emphasis on total fitness -- Aug. 13 through Sept. 24.
