Rockets rock

32-0 in opener

The Rockets opened the 2007 season last Thursday with a 32-0 win in Richland with the hope of beginning their quest to overtake the Wildcats and reign supreme again.

The Rocket defense led the way, surrendering just two first downs the entire game and forcing four Raider turnovers.

The Rocket offense, led by seventh grade quarterback, Brooks Lamb played a solid error free ballgame. Zach Ray had a huge ballgame for the Chapel Hill boys, scoring three times - a 23 yard run, a 54 yard kickoff return, and a 71 yard punt return. Ray also gained 64 yards on the ground.

Denzel Phipps ran for 40 yards and a TD and Richie Smith rumbled for 30 yards, including a 24 yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Morgan loves

to coach

Head Coach Danny Morgan, a 1997 graduate of Marshall County High School took over the program in 2004 from Steve Luker and guided the Rockets through two undefeated campaigns before the losses last year.

In a recent interview, Morgan talked about the winning streak and its impact on the Forrest program. "I think it was good," said Morgan. "Our kids expected to win every game and after the loss to Bridgeforth it really hurt and it stuck with them.
