Friday, August 24, 2007

An investigation is being conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation into communication and decisions among Lewisburg police with regard to an allegation of underage drinking by a teenage resident, local officials have said.

Lewisburg City Manager Eddie Fuller confirmed information that the investigation had started and he described a chain of events that could become the subject of the state investigator's report.

The TBI investigates when requested by the district attorney.

Fuller said it has been alleged that police found a teenage man at Jones Park, where he was allegedly drinking beer. The man was taken to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department and subsequently released. It's unclear whether there was a charge filed.
