The Forrest Rockets opened up in week zero of the 2007 TSSAA football season on Friday night and only needed one half of football to secure a 36-0 home opening victory over Riverside Christian, a team playing in their first-ever varsity game.
Mother Nature spared the young Riverside Christian squad from Fayetteville an even larger margin of defeat as the game was stopped after a large lightening storm packed with high winds and heavy rains descended upon Chapel Hill. After waiting nearly two hours, officials from the two schools agreed to halt play to avoid injury to the players and the fans.
Forrest explodes with twenty-nine second quarter points.
