Falcons 14  Saints 13

Falcons prevail in a game dominated by defense

The Falcons got on the scoreboard first with Zorian Pullen scoring on a 6 yard run right before halftime. Shavian Edmiston ran in the extra point to make it 7-0. The Saints answered back to start the second half when Miciah Greer broke free for a 67 yard touchdown run. Ronnie Thomison added the extra point to tie the score at 7. On the next Falcon drive, Pullen and Edmiston combined for another seven points as Pullen broke free on a 41-yard TD run and Edmiston added the extra point. The Saints answered after a 30-yard gain by Carter Adams set up a 6-yard TD by Thomison to pull within a point with 56 seconds left in the game. A motion penalty on the extra point attempt moved the Saints back 5-yards and the Falcon defense made a saving tackle at the 1-yard line to preserve the 14-13 win. Pullen led the Falcons defense with seven tackles, his teammate, Keyvonte Thomison had two tackles. Defensively for the Saints, R. Thomison and Greer combined for 13 tackles.

Eagles   34 Warriors 0

Eagles score early and often to fly over the Warriors

After a Warrior fumble on their opening drive, the Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Wesley Walker scored a 19 yard touchdown to make it 6-0. The Warriors never could get going against the tough Eagles defense. Kadrion Johnson would score three touchdowns on the day for the Eagles with runs of 31, 40 and 50yards. Jaylen Smith took it into the endzone from 60 yards out. Johnson, Walker and Mitchell Ford were defensive leaders for the Eagles. Keshun Gentry gained 41 yards for the Warriors on seven carries. He also led his team in tackles with three.

Mustangs improve record to 2-0

Montrell Harris scored two touchdowns, while Curtis Keiler and D'Andre Brown both scored one as the Mustangs ran to a 27 -- 0 halftime lead. There was no scoring in the second half, and the wins sets the stage for an early season showdown with the Jr. Bears for the Division lead next week in Fayetteville. Trevor Cummings led the Mustang defense with six tackles. The Falcons' Nick Hopkins ran for 51 yards while Tre Fields, Romeo Bean and Shelton Smith all had five tackles on defense.

Mustangs get first win of season

After a scoreless first quarter, the Mustangs struck first with Bryson Alexander scoring on a 1-yard run. Aaron Hobbs added the extra point run to make the score 7-0 at halftime. The Mustangs Offense continued to roll in the second half with Bubba Houghton scoring a 13-yard TD. Blake Darnell added the extra point run to make it 14-0. Devante Spencer broke loose later in the third quarter for a 55-yard TD to make it 20-0. The Black Knights got on the scoreboard when Ryan Golden returned a kick-off 64 yards for the touchdown to make it 20-6. The Mustangs would seal the win with a big play in the fourtth quarter as Bryson Alexander connected with Aaron Hobbs who took it 72-yards for the final score of the game. Leading the Mustangs' defense was Grayson Wiles with 5 tackles and Aaron Hobbs with four. Golden led the Black Knight's running game with 73 yards to go long with his kickoff return. Josh Whitaker had five tackles and Isiah Henderson had three.

Bears shut out Devils

The Bears jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as Bennielle Hill and Javier Howard both scored two touchdowns, while Tapalan Davis and Zach Johnson both scored one. The Bears joined the Mustangs as the only unbeaten teams in Jr. Division play. Steve Clemmons led the Bears defense with 6 tackles, Hill had five and Zach Johnson and Dylan Jones both had three. Caleb Fields gained 21 yards rushing for the Red Devils. Adam Qualls led the defense with two tackles.

Bears off to 2 -- 0 start

Malik Crawford led the mighty Bears offense with three touchdown runs as they continued their offensive roll through the League. Jay Murphy got the bears on the scoreboard first on a 3-yard run with Malik Crawford adding the extra point. Later in the first quarter, Payne Smith contributed with a 35-yard touchdown to make it an early 13-0 lead. The Bears would take a 19 -- 0 lead into halftime after Crawford scored his first touchdown of the day. He would score two more times in the second half, and Quante Alderson scored the final touchdown of the game on an 8-yard run. Crawford also stood out on the defensive side of the ball with 8 tackles. Jacob Peter added seven and Jacob Hodge had five. Chris Walker carried the ball 19 times for 102 yards for the Red Devils. Matthew Parker had four tackles and a fumble recovery, Dylan Giddens and Justin Dunkle had two tackles, and Matthew Rigdon had two fumble recoveries.
