The Forrest Middle School Rockets took the short bus ride to Eagleville on Monday night in a heat related make-up game and played right into the hands of the hometown Eagles as they dropped their first game of the season by a score of 14-12.

The loss was even more significant as it was the first ever defeat suffered by a Chapel Hill Middle School football team to the long-time rival Rutherford County squad.

"I don't think we were mentally prepared to play and they whooped us," FMS head coach Danny Morgan said after the game.

The Rockets have been great at securing the football all season, but on this night they turned the ball over three times deep in Eagleville territory and could not overcome the miscues to win the game.
