The Middle Tennessee Small Band Championship will beheld on Oct. 13 beginning at 10 a.m. in Chapel Hill. THe event is hosted by the Forrest Rocket Band of Blue. For more information on the event, call Band Director Billy Batemon at 364-7260.

A basic computer skill class is available on Oct. 16 at the Marshall County Adult Learning Center. Class size is limited to 10 people, so call 359-7609 for information or to register today.

Giles County 17th Annual Chili Cook-off will be held from 5:30 -- 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Pulaski's Historic Downtown Square. Live music and kids zone.

Berlin United Methodist Church celebrated their 150th Anniversary on Sept. 9. The church was organized in 1857 after a period of camp meetings and "Brush Arbors" with the leadership of Methodist Circuit Riders. The original building is till in use today, although there have been improvements through the years. The church has been placed on the National Register of Historical places.

Archer School Reunion will be held Sept. 29 at the Starlight Café in Cornersville from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon. The cost is $11 per person. Call 684-7005 to RSVP.

Christian artist Tara Jackson will be worshipping at two churches on Sept. 30. She will attend the 9:30 a.m. worship at Lewisburg Chapel, and the 11 a.m. service at Cornersville United Methodist Church. She will be sharing her unique style of Southern Gospel music. All are invited to attend.

Revival 2007, featuring evangelist Rev. Joe Bowers, will be held Sept. 30 (at Caney Spring United Methodist Church, Oct. 1 (at Berlin United Methodist Church, and Oct. 2 (at Verona United Methodist Church). The revival starts at 7 p.m. each night and presents special music by the Berlin Charge Choir. A Youth chili dinner will be held on Sept. 30 at 5 p.m.

"S.O.S." Survivors of the Storm 16th Annual Reunion for Gulf War veterans and their families of the 251 S&S company of the Tennessee Army National Guard and the "S.O.S." Family Support Group will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Tennessee Army National Guard Armory in Lewisburg. Bring your favorite covered dish or dessert. The youth of Burean Baptist Church, 1799 Berlin Rd., will lead the Sunday service on Sept. 30 at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Jason Shelton bringing the message. Fifth Sunday singing will be held at 6 p.m. that evening with guest singing groups The Servants and Billy and Felicia Moon.

Mike Rayson will be the evangelist Oct. 6 -- 9 at the Cornersville United Methodist Church 7 p.m. each evening. Mike is an accomplished songwriter and musician from down under in Australia. Oct. 6 is a Community Concert. All are invited.

The directors of the Marshall County Board of Public Utilities will host an appreciation dinner for the volunteers from fire departments and the county's Emergency Management Agency who have donated their time and talent to operate the water distribution locations during the drought this sumer and fall. The dinner will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 4, a Thursday, at the Henry Horton State Park restaurant. The leaders of the MCBPU anticipate that they and other county leaders will be speaking to the volunteers to reflect the importance of their help and dedication during the weeks following the start of the distribution Aug. 25.

The Lewisburg Lions Club Octoberfest will be held on Oct. 6 beginning at 6 a.m. "on the Square" with an all you can eat pancake and sausage breakfast.
