To the editor:

What a terrific Homecoming week! Our students, schools and community had the pleasure of experiencing history being made as we witnessed our first football game being played in our new complex. Congratulations to Coach Stacey and the Forrest Rockets for their rousing win last Friday night. I applaud the alumni, our families, friends and all the Rocket fans that cheered our team to victory. This special evening was filled with excitement that demonstrates the 'good things' that are happening in Chapel Hill. Our students have the privilege of competing on one of the finest athletic fields/courts in existence. These facilities are largely due to the physical sacrifice of many and to the committed Marshall County taxpayers. As an observer of last week's activities, I swelled with pride of what we have in Chapel Hill. Our children had a fun-filled week, our dedicated parents/friends pitched in to make our parade a huge success. Hats off to Mr. Bateman and the "Band of Blue" for energizing our spirits with their outstanding music. A big Thank You to the faculty, staff and students of Forrest and Chapel Hill Elementary School for their Homecoming participation and display of school spirit. It is truly contagious.

H. Dean Delk,

Principal Chapel Hill Elementary School
