Gene Griffin

Gene Griffin, age 61 of Unionville, died Oct. 16. Griffin was a native of Marshall County and was preceded in death by his father, William Griffin and mother, Dorothy Elizabeth Holton Griffin Hazel. He was a long time employee of the former Durango Boot Company of Chapel Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Griffin of Unionville; two daughters, Christy Robison of Shelbyville and Janie Griffin of Unionville; son, Danny Griffin of Ft. Riley, Kan.; three sisters, Janice Buford of Thompson Station, Judy Fuller of Shelbyville and Carolyn Hazel of Lewisburg; three brothers, Jerry Hazel of Texas, Larry Hazel of Lewisburg, and Ricky Hazel of the Holts Corner Community; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Oct. 19 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
