A benefit yard sale in memory of Renee Newman will be held at 7 a.m. on Nov. 3 at the Pit Stop on Highway 64. Any donations for the yard sale are appreciated. Lewisburg contact is Vickie Veatch, 931-205-0528.

The Republican Women of Marshall County invites all the women of Marshall County (all cultures, ages 17 and older who share our Republican values) to a Membership Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 3 at Lewisburg's First Presbyterian Church, located at 122 2nd Avenue. Members will be available to answer questions concerning mission, activities and goals and an opportunity to join will be extended. Celebrate 130 years of ministry at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 4 at Clay Hill United Methodist Church, 3164 Warner Road near Henry Horton State Park. A dinner on the ground will be followed by special music by Shane Adkins at 1:30 p.m.

The Marshall County Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Nov. 4 in the Marshall County Historical Museum in the Hardison School Annex. Several Marshall County Veterans will be participating in the program. The meeting is free and open to the public.

GED class orientation, enrollment and testing will be held Nov. 5 and Nov. 7 at 8:30 a.m. or Nov. 6 and Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. in the Marshall County Adult Learning Center. There are no fees and classes are available weekday mornings and evenings. The Lewisburg Recreation Board will hold a workshop at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Lewisburg Recreation Center, 1551 Mooresville Hwy, in the large meeting room.

Ann Throneberry, from Duck River Electric, will present her Holiday Foods Program on at 10 a.m. on Nov. 8 at the Church Street Church of Christ Annex in Lewisburg. Everyone is invited to attend.

Veteran's Day Program at Marshall Elementary School will be held on Nov. 9 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the MES cafeteria. The MES faculty and staff will provide breakfast and beverages to all veterans who attend.

Farmington United Methodist Church will sponsor a Gospel singing at 6 p.m. on Nov. 10 featuring the Missionaries to the Nations with soprano Tane Miller, the Worship Team from Methodist Church in Chapel hill and The Whaley's from Farmington. This free event promises to be an evening of inspirational music, good fellowship and good food. Donations will be accepted but are not required.

Veteran's Day Program at Chapel Hill Elementary will be held on Nov. 12 beginning at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast in the cafeteria. A special program for the veterans will follw at 9 a.m. in CHES playroom. All veterans are invited to come.

All city offices will be closed on Nov. 12 in observance of Veteran's Day. The Monday garbage route will be picked up on the following Thursday.

The November CHYFL board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Forrest High Field House. This meeting is open to the public.

H&S Pharmacy #2 will be holding a special diabetes event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 at 850 N. Ellington Pkwy where you will be able to get a new meter at no charge.
