A Marshall County man died Tuesday night after being struck by a pickup truck driven by a Bedford County man, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Kyle Patrick Starr, 20, of 3077 Nashville Highway next to Memorial Gardens north of Highway 64, was walking in the roadway of U.S. 31A near Wade Brown Road, according to information filed by Trooper Jack Sutphin.

The THP was dispatched at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday and Sutphin has reported that Starr was struck by a 1993 Ford pickup truck driven by Leonard Burgett, 34, of Unionville, according to Dispatcher Richard Dorning who read from the trooper's preliminary report.

"No charge has been filed," Dorning said. "I'm sure the trooper is not through with his investigation. His report hasn't come into the office."

Burgett was driving south on U.S. 31A and the pickup truck "struck [a] pedestrian in roadway," the dispatcher said, reading from what Sutphin provided.
