Velva Merwin Morgan, 92, of State Route 314, Mount Gilead, died Nov. 4 in Morrow County Hospital, following a long illness.

She was a daughter of Vinton Norman and Laura Alice (Coriell) Merwin. Velva was a member of Perry Church of Christ, where she taught in the Sunday school for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years George Sherman Morgan, and sisters Coriel Rauch and Ethel Merwin.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Vinton Lee and Peggy Jean Morgan,  her daughter and son-in-law Linda Anne and Bill Steensland all of Johnsville, Ohio; grandchildren and their spouses Katie and Brent Turner and Daniel and Jaime Morgan all of Lewisburg, Anna and Joe Wakham of Murfreesboro, Lori and Kerry Naylor of Marshalltown, Iowa, Morgan and Julie Steensland of Johnsville, Ohio, Mark and Becky Steensland of Johnsville, Ohio, Jessica L. Steensland of Mansfield, Ohio, J. Peter and Samantha Steensland of Virginia Beach, Va., and Bornwell and Angela Sianjina of Coshocton, Ohio; 18 great grandchildren and three on the way; a sister, Anna Laura Rheinbolt of Chesterville, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Goodwin of Tampa, Fla.; nieces and nephews and a large extended family, including brothers- and sisters-in-Christ.
