Mr. Joshua Young, Jr., age 78, of Chapel Hill, Tenn., died Sat., Nov. 10, 2007 at his residence in Chapel Hill.
A native of Stearns, KY, he was a son of the late William Joshua and Lori Wilson Young. He was a retired supervisor with General Motors in Norwood, Ohio. Mr. Young was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War. He was awarded the Japanese Occupation Medal, Korean Medal with three stars, the United Nations Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. At the time of his passing, Mr. Young was an active member and trustee of Caney Spring Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Edith Spradlin Young of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; a daughter, Rebecca Young of Castalian Springs, Tenn.; a son, Randy (Vickie) Young of Columbia, Tenn. and a grandson, Dane Joshua Young.
A memorial service will be conducted at Caney Spring Baptist Church, 1444 Hwy 99, Chapel Hill, Tenn., on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Stephen McCollum officiating. Mr. Young was buried at Arlington Memorial Gardens, Mt. Healthy, Ohio on Tuesday, Nov. 13, following services there.
