Richter's celebrate 50th anniversary

Bill Richter and the former Marianne Gates were married on Sept. 5, 1957 at the Church Street Church of Christ in Lewisburg. On Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2007, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception given by their children. It was held in the fellowship building of the Farmington Church of Christ.

The Richter's have three children, Marvene Woodruff of Murfreesboro, Andy Richter of Franklin and John Richter of San Francisco, California. They also have four grandchildren, Will and Suzanna Richter of Franklin, and Marianna and Elizabeth Woodruff of Murfreesboro.

Guests were greeted by the Richter's children and grandchildren. Wedding memorabilia and pictures taken over the last 50 years were displayed. There was also a video depicting the same period of time, with background music of the 1950s.

The serving table was centered with an arrangement of yellow roses and lilies. Refreshments consisted of chicken salad tarts, assorted fruits and vegetables, cheese balls, punch, nuts and mints. Centered on a round table was the four-tiered cake, which was a replica of their wedding cake. Each of the individual tables was centered with gold ribbon and an arrangement of mixed flowers.

The guest register was kept by Marianna Woodruff. Those who assisted in serving were Edna Thompson, Cindy Barron, Gina Richter, Allison Richter, Mallory Richter, Suzanna Richter, Elizabeth Woodruff and Amanda Isley.

Around 200 guests attended the reception.
