Mr. Carroll Donavon "Donnie" Hamilton, 76, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Centennial Medical Center.
Mr. Hamilton was a native of Georgetown, Ky. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry. He was a retired construction superintendent, 32nd-degree mason and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Laura Coyle Hamilton; and a brother, Orval Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Talley Hamilton, of Lewisburg; two sons, Keith "Carlin" Hamilton of Tullahoma and William Hamilton of Nashville; a daughter, Mary Ruth Hamilton of Lewisburg; two brothers, Glenn Hamilton and Duke Hamilton, both of Mooresville; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Billy Ross Tankersley at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Bryant Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Tom Wiegand, Wayne Coomes, Dr. Kenneth Poag, Dr. Jack Milligan, Charlie Foster and Joe Liggett. Honorary bearers are Don Wright, Quenten Looney and Grover Collins.
The family was at London Funeral Home Friday after 4 p.m. and Saturday until the funeral hour for visitation.
