The Forrest Lady Rockets showed no signs of full bellies from their Thanksgiving feasts as they came out with high energy in defeating the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats 48-34 on the opening night of the First Annual Forrest Thanksgiving Classic Friday night in Chapel Hill.

Forrest, who defeated Tullahoma 50-41 in a Hall of Fame game on Nov. 16 in Coffee County jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back.

Forrest knew they had a height advantage on the Lady Wildcats and used it as Gaby Bussell, Beth Hawn, and Summer Waggoner had their way in the blocks early on, scoring all of their team's points in a 14-6 first quarter.

The Lady Rockets are deep off the bench and sophomore guard Shelby Stinnett immediately took advantage of being inserted into the game at the beginning of the second quarter when she nailed a long three after a Dakota Wesson steal and on the next possession grabbed a rebound and fed Bussell to build the lead to 19-6 and force a Tullahoma timeout.

Tullahoma stayed in the game after the timeout, scoring four straight, but the Lady Rockets went back to the trio in the low post and would not let the Lady Cats get any closer then a 13 point margin the rest of the half as they took a 31-18 lead into the halftime break.
