Mr. Anderson was a native of Elkmont, Ala. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Westvue Church of Christ.
Mr. Anderson served in the Army during World War II and was involved in the Normandy landings and the Battle of the Bulge. He earned the World War II Victory Medal, American Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela (William) Whitehead of Lewisburg; two sisters, Mildred Joy Elliott of Hartselle and Shelby Jean Tyler of Elkmont; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the chapel of London Funeral Home Tuesday, Dec. 4., with Mike Whitehead officiating, followed by burial with military honors at Athens City Cemetery, in Athens, Ala.
Pallbearers were: James Lee Allen, Charles Van Hooser, Mike Elliott, Larry McCollum, Thomas Blalock, Stanley Hughes and Randal Tyler.
