The Town of Cornersville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at City Hall in Cornersville. The meeting is open to the public.

The Elk Valley Forestry Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Cleghorne Center, 77 Clark Ave., Fayetteville. Dr. Adam Taylor of the University of Tennessee will speak on bio-mass and its connection to forestry. A meal will be provided. For more information call the Fire Tower at 931-270-2244.

A public hearing concerning the family life education class to be taught to Marshall County eighth-graders will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the Marshall County Board of Education's Central Office. The agenda includes an opportunity to view the curriculum, lessons to be taught, and an explanation of state legislation requiring the class.

The Town of Chapel Hill Park and Recreation Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Chapel Hill Police and Fire Department, 119 North Horton Parkway.

The Marshall County Solid Waste Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 11, at the Marshall County Solid Waste director's office at 230 College Street, Suite 160, in Lewisburg.

The Marshall County Election Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Hardison Office Annex, 230 College St., Suite 120.

The Town of Cornersville will hold a public meeting Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Cornersville City Hall to discuss the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development. The purpose of this meeting is to review the guidelines of the program and to solicit input from area residents regarding potential uses of CDBG funds.
