The head turkeys at CHS

Photo by Rhonda Poole Cornersville High School FCCLA members sponsored a 'Turkey Teacher' fund-raiser to raise money for two local cancer-stricken children. Each CHS teacher was given a paper turkey and students were allowed to purchase 'feathers' for 50 cents each to give to their favorite teacher. By the end of the fowl campaign, the students and teachers raised $708.50. Teachers Joy McMasters and Eric Crabtree were the winning teachers. Each took home a frozen turkey breast for their Thanksgiving meal. The proceeds went to the families of Halie Hickman (granddaughter of CHS principal Bob Edens and CHS cafeteria manager Mary Anne Hickman) and Cornersville Elementary student Sadie Gentry. Pictured here beside the winning turkey are CHS FCCLA members Morgan Carroll, left, and Lori Beth Adams. Not pictured are FCCLA members Lucas Highfield and Jimmy Cybils.
